Re: The NDB API?

Hi Stewart,

At your advice I built the source tree and I think we're a step closer! I do still get some errors however when trying to make both the 'scan' and 'simlpe' examples so any further guidance or suggestions you have would be welcome!

My overall aim is to get an NDP API example running so that I can build my own client to access an NDBD cluster.

I'm running Fedora core with GNU make and using the Tarball (tar.gz) (mysql-5.0.18.tar.gz) as the source. The output I get when building the 'scan' and 'simple' examples are, respectively:

g++ -g -Wall -L../../../ndb/src/.libs -L../../../libmysql_r/.libs -L../../../mys
ys -L../../../strings ndbapi_scan.o -lndbclient -lmysqlclient_r -lmysys -lmystri
ngs -lz -o ndbapi_scan
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lmysqlclient_r
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [ndbapi_scan] Error 1

g++ -c -Wall -fno-rtti -fno-exceptions -I../../../include -I../../../ndb/include
-I../../../ndb/include/ndbapi ndbapi_simple.cpp
../../../ndb/include/ndbapi/NdbDictionary.hpp:68: warning: 'class NdbDictionary:
:Object' has virtual functions but non-virtual destructor
g++ -Wall -L../../../ndb/src/.libs -L../../../libmysql_r/.libs -L../../../mysys
-L../../../strings ndbapi_simple.o -lndbclient -lmysqlclient_r -lmysys -lmystri
ngs -lz -o ndbapi_simple
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lmysqlclient_r
collect2: Id returned 1 exit status
make: *** [ndbapi_simple] Error 1

My profound thanks to you or anyone that can help me!

Ian
