Setup for perfromance?

Hello,

I have tried a lot of benchmarking on a test cluster that I have up and running, but the performance is really not good at all.

What I have difficult finding out is how to configure the cluster nodes to gain performance in reads and writes. I am going to use 6 x dual 3 Ghz for the cluster with eth 1 Gbit or SCI and 8 Gb Ram, but Im not sure that I am able to find the performance im looking for with Mysql Cluster vs Oracle RAC.

I have not been able to find any info on wether it is importentent to have many API Nodes vs Db Nodes or the orther way around? How do I setup a cluster just for performance?

How would you setup the cluster ini file to get the most out of these servers?

Cheers,
Jacob Christensen
