Back office PC (Master) - Point of sale Terminals (Slave)

Hi Everyone,

I was hoping someone could advice me on something

I am developing a Point of sale system that uses MySQL as the Central Database and what I would like to know is can I replicate the single back office Database to multiple Salves (IE the front end Tills)

The Idea is as such

Any updates done on the back office (IE add new items / Price change) would be sent to the PoS Terminals right away and if the Back office Server goes off line the PoS terminal can still run as the data is stored in a local MySQL server that is running on the PoS.

Is this the right use for Replication or am I going in the wrong direction with this?

The Database server is running on Debian 10 and the Point of sale systems will be Debian 10 but no GUI (my PoS application does all the graphical work)

Hopefully I have made sense to someone with this
