So the 'SHOW CREATE TABLE' was identical for both servers, as well as data in the TABLES & COLUMNS tables of the information_schema. What was different between the servers was the .frm file.

Initially I tried copying just the .frm file from the master to the slave, but that caused corrupted data (probably to be expected, since they were different). In the end, I fixed the issue by re-creating the table on the master (so a new .frm file was generated), then doing a full re-sync.

Hopefully this is helpful for anyone else who runs across this problem.
