Re: Upgrade from 5.0 to 5.1

Let me answer my own questions, since no reply has been posted.

1. On the master I added a user, granted that user replication rights to everything, and added 'server-id=1' and 'bin-log=mysql-bin' to my.ini. I also took a backup.
2. On the slave I issued 'stop slave', restored the backup and used 'Change master to' to redefine the link to the master. I then started the slave. I did not have to upgrade to 5.1 - all i needed to do was use the 5.0 manual to get the 'change master to' command correct. I did not need to change my.ini.
