Synchronize both Master and Slave Database

I have a master slave setup for replication.I have external database volumes and log volumes(Disk Array connected through cable). If by any chance this cable is removed and reconnect it, the master and slave databases are not in sync.
Is there anyway to achieve this(ie., to make sync)?
