Can you show us the trigger?

Is this relevant? "When using row-based replication, triggers on the slave are not activated by statements originating on the master. The triggers on the slave are activated when using statement-based replication."

"A statement invoking a trigger (or function) that causes an update to an AUTO_INCREMENT column is not replicated correctly using statement-based replication. MySQL 5.5 marks such statements as unsafe. (Bug #45677) "
