Performance of replication

Hello,

I have a question about internal things during replication. In my tests I could see that the relay-bin file on the slave site is accessed in small blocks (not continiously).
It that the reason for the low performance during replication. In tests we achieved a replication speed of approx. 2500 inserts per sec.
It's not very slow but if you imagine to have a replication for a cluster which can perform 20.000 inserts/updates per second then there will be a problem with replication.

Are there some ways to do some kind of parallel replication to speed up that ?
