Can I test replication from the same NT machine?

Hi,

I'm trying to set up and test the replication from my NT WS. I already have one service created when I do the installation.
My plan is:
1.create the second service on a different port
2.connect to that service and create a database
3.Load data from the master service to this database
4.configure replication from admin GUI

Can anybody verify this? How do I do step 2?
