Hi Andrew,

This is possible, of course not all cloud providers allow you that setup. (Oracle Cloud does for example). But don't forget that you should write only on one database at the time. Conflict resolution is not part of Master/Slace (asynchronous) MySQL Replication. If you write data on both databaservers at the same time (locally and on the cloud), if data conflict, replication will break.
