Re: "[Note] Failed to start slave threads for channel ''" message in err file

Hello Peter,

I've succeeded to figure out what causes that behaior - the setting in ,m.cnf of parameter "server_id".
Once i remove/comment the "server_id" parameter - that line with
message
"[Note] Failed to start slave threads for channel ''"doesn't appear. more in err file

The connection between server_id setting and the named message is not obvious for me, but at least there is a possible resolution.

It shall be noted that the parameters "server_id" and "log_bin" have to be set/unset togetehr. in pair
I've commented out only the server_id parameter and left tjhe log_bin in my.cnf - and it was not possible to start MySQL server at all (with relevant messages about that connection in /var/log/messages).

Many thanks , Peter, for your advices.

Best regards,
Avi Vainshtein
