Re: 5.6 to 5.7 row-based replication performance issue
I disabled log_bin on the 5.7 replica, and now it performs almost identical to the 5.6 replica. So it seems the performance problem on the 5.7 replica is less about replicating from the primary and more about writing to its own binary log. Now that I've narrowed it down to binary logging, I will see if I can find a setting or combination of settings in that area that will resolve the performance issue without having to turn off binary logging.
