Failover/Switchover steps for Single Source Single Replica configuration

I am looking for Failover/Switchover steps for a Single Source Single Replica configuration. Everything I have found is at minimum Single Source Two Replicas.

I need to know how to Failover/Switchover when a Single Source fails/crashes and there is only a Single Replica to Failover/Switchover to :)
