I am having a problem getting a backup to work on Unix/linux and would appreciate any input.
I have used the mysql-administrator Gui to schedule a backup which places an entry in the cron file. The entry is below.

/usr/bin/mysql-administrator -bpTSM -bt/var/mysql-backup -bxbrightmail -cBackup

Since it does not run the backup when it is suppoused to I tried to run it manually but the result of that is that it will prompt me with the "Connection to MySQL Server Instance" window. Altough the 'Server Hostname', 'Port', 'Username' and 'Password' fields have the correct info in them I still need to click on the connect 'Connect' button. I was expecting that at this point it would begin the backup but the results of all this is that it just brings up the normal gui which is the same as running it like below.

/usr/bin/mysql-administrator

With this behaviour I can't see how I will be able to automate the backup can anyone help me to perform a backup using the mysql-administrator utility. Thanks
