How to use mysqldump --compatible=name option?

Hi,

I need to dump a mysql schema into ANSI mode. I found in MySQL Reference Manual: 8.8. The mysqldump Database Backup Program

mysqldump has an option --compatible=name to produce output that is compatible with other database systems including ansi.

However, I've tried mysql 4.0.13, 4.1.11 and 5.0.4. None recognizes this option. I'd like to know how to use mysqldump --compatible option.

Thanks.

George
