My first backup appeared to do nothing.

Guys, newbie alert and this is my first post, so please don't flame me for being a dork with my question! :-)

Anyway, I created a new test database and added a table and populated it with some rows. I then wanted to experiment with the backup/restore catalog in MySQL Administrator (1.1.1 rc). I selected the database and created a new backup project making sure that everything in it is selected for backup. When I do the backup all I get is an empty .sql file.

I know I've messed up somewhere but can someone help me through this? This is my first foray into MySQL and I'm really unfamiliar with most things you can do. I'm happy sticking with the GUI side of things (Win2K/XP) but if I need to drill into DOS command mode that's ok.

I'm using a very minimal database and table and that's why I took a test database just to play with. Being so new, I don't mind if you speak in kindergarten terms!

Thanks.

Peter.
