mysqldump and upgrade from 4.0.25 to 4.1.13

I took a backup a few days ago with the mysqldump utility and the dump on disk was 500 megs. Last night, I took another databse and the dump on disk was 700 megs!
I logged into cpanel and with phpmyadmin, the database is 500 megs. I sent a ticket to my host and they said that they upgraded mysql from 4.0.25 to 4.1.13 and the size differerence with the dump was due to that.

This is the command that I used:

mysqldump --opt -Q -uusername -p db > bkdump.sql

Does this sound like a viable answer Is there anything I should be worried about? The database is for a Vbulletin forum. Thanks.
