Rick,

Thanks for the feedback. I thought the --delete-master-logs flag would automatically delete the incremental log files with each backup so was debating whether to keep it or not.

Don't have replication set up - still small company so haven't gone down that path yet. Haven't even looked at it so don't know the level of effort involved.

I've seen lots of people reference XtraBackup. What would be the main reasons to go that route over using mysqldump? Would it enable the single-database restore?
