I did another export, which was not self contained and it ddi show it used "InnoDB". This does not seem to go for self contained however.

"If you're running MySQL processes, especially one that take hours, you need to get familiar with the resources you have (eg Task Manager for memory available once all relevant software is running, File Explorer for disk space remaining, my.ini buffer settings), and the resources you need."

I figured you were talking about memory the program can reserve, not actually machine resources available. I posted the system specs in my first post, so this was very confusing. I am very familiar with Windows OS, just not MySQL

I will try a backup that's not self contained to see if it makes any difference, the export was very quick. literally seconds.

Okay I just tried making another backup. not self contained and it went so fast I could barely see it happen.

However before I was able to make the backup I got a mismatch mysqldump error, which with help of the forums I fixed. Maybe this is why I got the issue to begin with. will make another backup tomorrow as it's quite late here :)
