How to control remote access with dynamic IPs [reverse lookup problem]

I'd like to restrict access to my remote mysql server to the local machine and my home office which has a dynamic IP. The IP is registered as a somedomain.selfip.com, but the reverse lookup fails because it results in a dynamic domain name of my ISP. I cannot use the IP in the grant tables because it is dynamic. Is there a way to configure the desired access control without modifying and recompiling the source?
