SSL Help
Here's my situation. I have a production database that has been in operation for 10 months now. We need to introduce SSL.
SHOW VARIABLES LIKE 'have_openssl';
Unfortunately returns NO.
From what I can gather it means that my current instance doesn't support SSL. Current instance is 4.1.16-nt-max. Does this mean that I must re-install MySQL to utilize SSL? Upgrading to MySQL 5 is not an option at this point because of other constraints.
Is there any way to convert an existing instance without losing any data or going through a backup/restore scenario with the data?
Please advise. Thanks....
