SHOW TABLES producing empty result set

Hi,
According to the 5.6 Ref on the SHOW TABLES command, you should be able to see the tables for which you have access when issuing that command. That does not seem to be the case where I have a user with SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT & DELETE privs on 4 tables in a database, and yet SHOW TABLES issued by that user in that database produces an empty result set. Can anyone tell me why this would be the case?

Thanks,

GAM (Glen A McAllister)
