Ok
So I am the Admin over a particular MySql database at work and the server that i use is remote somewhere else. I need to create a user name and pwd so that when people type in the server name and " \ index", they don't see all the tables used to make their website

To test this i downloaded a new copy and setup a test database with the same info and settings.. which again, on the live production one are also Non-existent!
i tried to create a user name and pwd on root so that when i open mysql it will do it.

now when i click on the phpmyadmin link in the left hand corner,i get an error saying:

PhpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, user name and password in config.inc.php and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.
Error

MySQL said: Documentation
Cannot connect: invalid settings.

what did i do wrong?

do i have to totally uninstall mysql to undo the password mistake i made?
