reset user passwords

kind of a newbie question...We're getting our feet wet, rolling out a small windows desktop app using Mysql on AWS cloud.

As far as Mysql User/Password resets...

- are there any tools/plugins to allow the user to do password resets themselves right from app? (like typical sending email to them, then allowing them to reset, keeping same permissions, etc). I havent seen this per se, but I certainly dont see everything.

- or would an IT type or a more techie user of the app perhaps, need to be trained how to go into workbench (or CLI commands) to reset for each user as needed?

thanks!
