Haven't used the ODBC interface with Access.
However, I have used the ODBC driver to get data into Excel for various clients, and I'm pretty sure that Windows doesn't encrypt the password if you opt to store it in the data source definition. Maybe the exposure of admin passwords in plain text is another windoze 'feature' :-o
Can you set up and use your ODBC link using a non-admin password?
