is it possible for a MySQL server to support both encrypted and not encrypted connections? (and require encryption only from certain addresses, etc.)

hi guys,

Is it possible for a MySQL server to support both encrypted and not encrypted connections? Then it would only require encryption when connected from certain addresses (outside the intranet, etc.)

Is this possible? Or if the server requires encrypted connections it has to be for all connections?

Thanks and best regards
