The mysql.sock file will not be found unless the mysqld process is running. Looking at some of the information you provided, it appears you have a range of issues including corrupt tables (CHECK/REPAIR TABLE) and the InnoDB engine is not recognised. I would suggest you go through your logs and see what errors are occurring when you starting MySQL as there may be a simple configuration error that is causing some of the messages you see.
