To understand the variances between the component and plugin implementations, refer to the document titled "Data-Masking Components Versus the Data-Masking Plugin." Users currently utilizing the plugin should uninstall the server-side plugin and remove its loadable functions before installing the new MySQL Enterprise Data Masking and De-Identification components.
