converting from InnoDB to MyISAM

I am converting my tables from InnoDB to MyISAM using Alter table command. one table which was 23000 records took few seconds to convert. I have other table which is approximately 220 million records, alter command is running since 5 days now and not finished yet. Is this a right behavior? Is there way to find out how much data is converted and if the script is really running and not hung somewhere?
