Hi our security team has come up with these suggestions for our MySQL db what does the following points means and what actions needs to be taken from my side as MySQL DBA

1) Vulnerable Cleartext Database protocol
Security recommendation = Access to the MySql dbase should be locked down at the transport layer within an SSL tunnel.
DBA Comments =

2) The default proprietary MySql hash of password is used. This is weak and is relatively easier to crack
Security recommendation = Move to SHA1
