Hi Mike,

This is exactly what should be done to get rid of the error "Either the server service or the configuration file could not be found. Startup variables and service section are therefore disabled." that MySQL Administrator is whining about after connecting to DB.

In my case, I had to change Service Control->Configure Service->Config Filename.
MySQL Administrator made it easier by marking that field (non-existent config file) with red color. :-)
