Unable to grant Execute privilege in user administration

I want to grant EXECUTE privileges to a user from MySql Administrator. when I first select a schema the Execute privilege is listed, however as soon as I add it the list of granted privileges and click Apply it disappears. I tried calling a stored procedure as the user I gave execute to, but got access denied.
