I have just innstalled mysql ver. 4.1.12 and the betas of the administrator and the query browser. I cant connect to localhost.

I first try to start the database with provided start/stop tool on OS X (the on in system preferences) this pref. pane states on open that the database is running. Even if launch on system startup is not selected. When I click on the startbuttun the pane gives an errormessage. If I try once more. the Database is starting up.

If i connect with terminal things seems ok. The databse is now running and I try to connect with the Administrator it says access denied for root@localhost code using password: YES code 1045.

I have no important data in the database.

Does this means I have to change back to the old password autentication I have read something about?
