MySQL Administrator "User Administration" configuration

Hello There!
I just installed Joomla on Debian Linux (Mepis 8.0) and it seems that I made a mistake, because when I want to log in as "administrator" it does not recognize "user name" nor "password." When I open the two tables bak_users and jos_users on the database no one of them has a defined user on it. I want to use MySQL Administrator to set up the "administrator." When I click on the "User Administration" icon a pop up says "Could not retrieve user privileges." Then I click on "OK" and the "add user" button is active but when I click on it nothing happens! What can i do to create an user via MySQL Administrator? Or how can I create an "administrator" directly on one of the two tables of the database? Will any of those two options solve my problem? Thank in advance for your help!
