Root account lost its privileges on ubuntu / Mysql 5.0.51a

Hi,

After 2 years without problems, my MySql server has suddenly (and mysterioulsy) revoked privilges for the root account. With this account i'm no more able to do a select on a table.
I didn't change nothing.

Please help!
