We are going to migrate to innodb_file_per_table to OFF tonight. Hopefully it works out. Figure running:
ALTER TABLE tablename ENGINE=InnoDB;
On all the tables will take some time, and cause lots of load on the server.
Or application requires each account to get their own dedicated database and tables, just the way it is architected and can't be changed. The nice thing, is horizontal scaling becomes trivial, as new accounts increase, we can just put them on new servers. Sharding is not needed.
