how to log insert and update queries finding problems of lock wait timeout

Hi

Friends I am facing problems I have one update button which consist of some insert, update and select statement but I am facing with lock wait time out problem. I want to check where it fails. And in some case I want to fine tune some queries. I enabled slow log and general log and it automatically created slow_log and general_log table. But it contain only Select statements My issue is with update statements kindly help me to enabled the log so that I can find some fix.

I am using Windows and mysql version 5.5.38

Also If there is any open source tools for windows or linux let me know
