Slow connection between Delphi 5 and mysql 4.1

Hi,

I´m using myodbc 3.51.11-1 to access an mysql server 4.1 and my connection is very slow..
It doesn´t happens when I use old versions of mysql(server and connector)..
I´m trying to use this by Delphi 5...

It´s a Incompatibility of versions (delphi/mysql) ?
There´s some patch to make it works?
