Exiting ports

On which ports does MyODBC send out information and can it be directed to ise specific ports or port ranges?
Incoming MySQL connection is no problem, as it is a single port that can be changed. What about the outgoing connection? MyODBC seems to try a broad range of ports.
The version is 3.51.11.2.
