As strange as it sounds, downgrading to a lower version of the ODBC driver (3.51 in our case), it works. I tend to believe it is a bug in the current version of the ODBC.
In any case, I'll be happy to hear about other experiences and see if there is a way to make it work with v5.1 of the ODBC.
