Hi Hemant;

We think that the firewall policy for access from our subnets are in place, otherwise the MYSql GUI such as NaviCat/Razor SQL would not connect.

As we try to connect via the connector/ODBC driver specifying the host name or IP address (TCP/IP) with existing usrer ID and passowrd, we get the error:

1. "Connection failed [HY000][MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server 'servername.fqdn'"

2. If we open a named pipe (MySQL), we get the error:

""Connection failed [HY000][MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't open named pipe to host.fqdn".

The same database connection worked when it was on a Solaris host.

Is there a compatibility BUG in Connectior/ODBC for Windows MySQL and opensource database such as MySQL for Linux? We need to connect to this server ASAP to keep workflow going. Let me know if you have any suggestion for me to try. Thanks!
