Hi Julius,

Thank you for your reply. I am glad the trick with exporting the library path worked.
Regarding your question: it is strange that "myodbc-installer -d -l" did not display the list of drivers. The only explanation I have for this at the moment is a possibility of misplaced ODBC configuration ini files.

There should be two files:
- odbcinst.ini containing the information about the installed ODBC drivers
- odbc.ini containing the Data Source Names with the connection data and the driver references to odbcinst.ini

These files might be system-wide. The default location is inside /etc directory. Also, they could be specific to each user (inside ~/etc). It is also possible to keep them in any directory in your file system. It is the responsibility of UnixODBC driver manager to read from and write into these files. A good practice is to specify the location of odbc.ini and odbcinst.ini by setting ODBCINI and ODBCSYSINI environment variables.

Note that the their specification is different:

ODBCINI=/home/username/etc/odbc.ini
you give the full path and the file name (odbc.ini or any other name that you want).

ODBCSYSINI=/home/username/etc
this variable specifies the directory containing odbcinst.ini and unlike odbc.ini (which can be changed) you cannot pick any other name for odbcinist.ini file.

Setting these two env variables helps to resolve ambiguities between system and user files etc.
