Hi Bogdan, thanks for the reply.

I had tried that selection already, but I just tried again. When I add the SSL CA File value and also change the SSL Mode value from blank to REQUIRED, it still gives me the same error when I hit the Test button.

I then tried all of the other choices under SSL Mode. All gave the same message except for DISABLED which gave the error: Access denied for user 'michaelk'@'68-188-99-78.static.stls.mo.charter.com' (using password: YES)

Just to check, I went back to MySQL Workbench and I changed the Use SSL value there to "No"... then I received the error Access denied for user (same as above). When I choose "If available", Success. "Require and Verify CA", Success. "Require and Verify Identity" - gives different error "SSL Connection error: SSL certificate validation failure".
