You should be more specific with your question.

Usually kind of exception is thrown then a variable is not initialized.

Like:
NOT INITIALIZED(exception is throwed):

MySqlconnection conn;
conn.ConnectionString = "......";

or

ArrayList al;
al.Add(object);

INITIALIZED:

MySqlConnection conn = new Connection(connectionstring);

or

ArrayList al = new ArrayList();
al.Add(object);
