BouncyCastle.NetCore dependency

Hello, correct me if I'm wrong but it seems that the BouncyCastle.NetCore dependency nuget https://www.nuget.org/packages/BouncyCastle.NetCore/ is not officially maintained by the team at BouncyCastle, rather it looks like an effort by a single random developer (git page at https://github.com/chrishaly/bc-csharp, last commit April 2018).
I understand why the dependency is needed, but I have some questions about it.

1) Do you have any ties to this package, i.e. is it handled by an Oracle developer?
2) Why did you pick this specific package instead of the much more updated https://www.nuget.org/packages/Portable.BouncyCastle/ ?
3) Did you contact the BouncyCastle developer to ask (or sponsor) an official port to .net core of their project, and maybe nuget packages? Are they interested in it?

I am asking these because I am impacted by issue https://github.com/bcgit/bc-csharp/issues/248 and the responses there seem to imply there are better alternatives.

Thanks in advance
