While it is entirely possible that these values indicate real world performance (the product is beta 1 after all and is not complete), however there are several factors that could contribute to these numbers.

1. Were the tables identically created under MS SQL and MySQL? Did one use indexing while the other did not?

2. Were they run on the same hardware?

3. Did you attempt to insert the same amount of data into MySQL using other methods? This would help determine if the problem is in the Connector or is a problem with your MySQL setup in general.
