Hello Ueli.

You can't add a new DBConnection on VS2013 using MySql for Visual Studio 1.0.X because that version has no support for VS2013, you must use a MySql for Visual Studio 1.1.X version to be able to add a connection in the "Server Explorer" pane, that version is currently on beta but could resolve your issue, here is more information about it:
