Getting Keys

I'm a long time MySQL user but a newbie when it comes to visual basic .net. Is there a command in vb.net to get the key for a row you just inserted, equivalent to mysql_insert_id() in php? I aplogize if it's an easy question but I've been pulling my hair out trying to learn vb. Any help would be greatly appareciated.
