thank you Peter.
the logics behind it is very simple
i have a multi table DB that creates thousands of rows every day and once in 90 days old rows are deleted
so we have huge gaps in the table
that's not the mail reason
the main reason is that the numerator is getting huge values and are very hard to handle
so resetting the numerator and closing gaps is a very needed feature

i understand that since version 8 it may be problematic to use that technique,
is there a way to do it propperly?
