Wow. Thanks - I'm glad it's finally something that's not me and my seat-of-the-pants configuration management. :-)
as for the updatable result set, no, that's something I set on the rowSet when I know I'm going to be editing anything from the PageBean.
If I'm just filling a table or displaying a record, the IDE gives the option of doing something it terms "CONCUR_READ_ONLY".... maybe that's an API term from something lower level?
